Game of Thrones (2011)

Game of Thrones is an American medieval fantasy television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, featuring a predominantly British cast. The series is based on author George R. R. Martin's best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire series of seven planned fantasy novels, the first of which is called A Game of Thrones. The series debuted in the U.S. on April 17, 2011.

Game of Thrones has been extremely well received, and has garnered a loyal fanbase. The series was picked up for a second season on April 19, 2011, two days after its premiere.

"Kings, queens, knights and renegades use schemes and swords to battle for the throne.." Game of Thrones is a beautiful tv series based on R. Martin's famous fantasy novel. For a month (since i came home from the army), I have been watching Game of Thrones and I must say it is totally exciting. Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones has a pretty impressive atmosphere, casting and acting. Also it includes famous stars like Sean Bean, Lena Headey and Jack Gleeson. HBO did a good job by creating that beautiful series. But while watching the series, you can realise HBO's classic touches with it, like; "Sex Sells" tactics. Game of Thrones includes extra nudity, sex and violence as well as HBO's other tv series like the Oz, Rome, True Blood..etc Sometimes extra limits of those make me bored or annoyed while watching. There is no need to try commercializing that kind of  rather successful show and the story with extreme nudity and sex game tactics.

The novel won the 1997 Locus Award, and was nominated for both the 1998 Nebula Award and the 1997 World Fantasy Award. The novella Blood of the Dragon, comprising the Daenerys Targaryen chapters from the novel, won the 1997 Hugo Award for Best Novella. A Game of Thrones follows three principal storylines simultaneously; In the Seven Kingdoms, On the Wall and In the East.

I  think Game of Thrones is the most successful tv series of the year and if it can go on for a long while, for years we will keep talking about it. But unfortunately HBO always creates rich and successful series but rarely achieving to keep them longer cause of economic reasons. We will see how long Game of Thrones can keep moving. Definitely I would like watch it for a real long time..
